I have to say that I never told for a long, long time. And when I eventually did tell... well, by that time I was so ill that it took me years to get better. I wish I'd told someone years earlier.

The problem with being depressed is that you forget how much people care. You become really locked inside your head, and actually quite self-absorbed. You believe that no one can help you anyway.

But that's not true. Your family love you and will help you in any way they can.

I'm glad I told. It gave me a safety net. While I hadn't told anyone then I felt it was easier to quietly die cause then no one could blame themself, as no one knew. Once people knew... I had to fight harder. And it's really, really worth it. I was much more supported, and so many people understood.

Go for it!

Yes. It would be good to tell your family. But why do you want to commit suicide in the first place? If you tell them then they might be able to help you. I am saying this out of experience. My family helped me and it wont cause more damage if your family loves you.

Yes all day long I am going to tell you my answer to suicide never kill your self there is always a chance for things to get better for you if you kill your self you won't get a chance to see the good days come bad days are natural you are always going to have bad days every once in a while. To help to have more good days is to get rid of your self also another reason not to commit suicide if you kill your self you wont have a chance to get to Haven if you don't then you will have a chance to get to Haven and I now that is where you want go when you die.

depression is an illness, not just a state of mind.

please think about this, if you will:

someone you love is going to die from cancer, but they didn't tell you about it at all.... you would probably want to know, so you could be supportive and try to see them through.

how would you feel if you never knew, and your loved one was suffering in silence? I don't think you'd want this to happen.

your family would definitely want to know, they NEED to know, and i'm sure they would want to help you as much as they can...

YOU are worthwhile and important, and you don't deserve to suffer.

I have attached a website address which has been helpful to thousands (and a few of my friends). It is a positive and supportive website, and also provides more links for advice and help.

Hey! Def. tell your family. They may not know exactly how to react at first but they will figure it out and they will want to help you in any way possible. To be honest at 1st it may hurt them but in the long run it will be the very best thing you could of ever done for yourself and for them. and they will want to help and want to understand. just make sure your ready for thier help and please do tell them they care a lot about you!

Please tell someone. It doesn't have to be a family member. It can be someone you trust. It's never for the best. There is nothing in this life worth killing yourself over. It would do so much damage to your family.

You need the support. Tell them. Remember problems are temporary and suicide is a permanent solution.
