The gun is .40. Someone suggested in another question I asked that I could put in a 9mm barrel? Is that possible?

Congrats on a good purchase. I too have a model 23. You can drop in a .357 Sig barrel. You use the same springs, mags, etc. Just buy the Glock Model 32 barrel. I got one online for $99. You can also buy aftermarket barrels which offer fully supported chambers, so you can shoot reloads. I bought the Glock factory barrel.

I don't know about 9mm conversion. I would be interested as well.

Good luck.

You could never shoot 9mm in a 40 with out changing the barrel and slide to one of a 9mm. however with a replacement barrel you can shoot 357 Sig. This is because the round is based off a 40 s&w shell. All spring weights are the same and will not need to be replaced nor any other parts.
If your not confortable doing this any competent gunsmith can fit a barrel for you.

NO!

You can use a G22 barrel in your G23.
