Depends on which model it is, some will work better then others. Personally, I would not try it in the Mr. coffee model IDS77 its kind of cumbersome for grinding up spices. In the Mr. coffee model IDS55 however, I wouldn't even think twice. With that model I would just make sure it is throughly clean before grinding any coffee; only reason, coffee and spices don't taste well together.

i do it all the time and it never messed my grinder up. i have one for spices and one for my coffee. besides, if it messes it up.....they arent that expensive, you can replace it and know you cant do it anymore. then you can buy one of those little choppers to do your spices. but, like i said. ive never had a problem grinding my spices with my coffee grinder.

Some are too hard. Mr. Coffee is a 'real' grinder and not a flying blade.

No, get a blender with a food processor or just get a food processor. The coffee grinder won't do it uniformly.

What part of "NO" don't you understand? The manufacture of a product knows what it's product is capable of. They only lie to you when it's not important.
