ok so i got a gearbox stuck in first gear!
i got a good responce from (notaclue) who belives it is
Worn out shifting forks. and to Pop the top of the gear box off and use a pry bar to realign the shifting forks.i think he is right
the new question is now is it possible to do this insitu or does the box have to come out. thank you in advance

First try unhooking the rods that hook to your shifting arms on the side of the tranny . And using a rubber mallet try tapping the arm that looks like it may be in gear. Do each arm lightly both directions and see if it will come out of gear. Usually there is to muck slop in the rods and arms and they get stuck. Its hard to take of the top of a Ford tranny with out removing it. Unless you can figure a clever way to get thru the floor of the car.
