I am looking for a doctor to operate on me for scoliosis surgery. I was recommended to Robert J. Wienecke of Oklahoma City, OK. Has anyone been under his care for a surgery? I would like to have some opinions of him. thanks

I was referred to Dr. Wienecke as being a specialist in scoliosis by Dr. Eric Eckman, who was number one in his class at Stanford, who is very highly regarded, and has a 2-3 month wait. I would assume that Dr. Wienecke is very good, with a recommendation like that. Now I get to decide if I have a surgery from Dr. Wienecke.

I do not know of that doctor. But the doctor that did my surgery is Dr. William Herndon of OSSO. He an orthopedic surgeon. He just did my scoliosis surgery 2 months ago, and I don't think that it could have gone any better, I am absolutely thrilled with how it went. He's out of Edmond, but did my surgery at Bone and Joint. Good luck with your surgery.

I've heard of him, mainly through a colleague who is involved in the neurosciences. My colleague speaks well of him -- I have never had the opportunity to personally meet him though, or evaluate his surgical acumen.
