Don't be silent about it. Ironically, the not knowing how they feel can be worse than their response.
Do not be over-the-top (like jumping on couches), but be charming and even sweet. I knew this girl who took a guys hand, put it to her cheek and kissed it. He fell so hard for her. He never recovered and married her 4 years later.

Just find a time that feels comfortable, and tell them. Life's
too short not to let someone know how you feel. Sometimes
it just takes a leap of faith. And, actions speak louder than
words, so there's a good chance they already know,
anyway.

A broad question...difficult to answer. If it's a boy, I'd wait for him to make a declaration of love. If you really love him he's already pretty aware. Actions do speak. Eyes do tell. I'd just wait for him to go first, really, really, would.
