My cat gets glucosamine supplements from the vet called 'Seraquin' for her arthritis and i wondered because vets aren't the most cost affected places in the world whether or not she can get Glucosamine tablets from health stores for humans?

That should be fine check the milligrams of glucosamine in your cat vet presc and give the dose accordingly ie half/quarter of tablet. Make sure they dont contain anything else that may be harmful to your cat.

glucosamine is glucosamine, regardless of source. The question is dosage and digestability. The pet version could be easier on the stomach, also check that it is JUST glucosamine the cat is getting in the prescribed pill. If it is just glucosamine and you can match the dose and there is no stomach irritation then yes, you can give made for people pills to your cat.

no! that's why they get feline meds. as opposed to canine/equine/human/etc meds. each species has it's own specialised metabolism & must be treated accordingly.
when next you run a fever & get a cough/sneezing fit/blocked nose/sore throat, will you go to a vet & ask for a "cat flu" remedy? no. you'll use human medicine since cat meds won't work on you. the same is true in reverse.
