Daniel D that's a pretty sick thing to say. Shame on you.

Hell yes i'm glad there choking. I've never been a foreign car fan much less a Toyota fan.
I dont want to sound immature when I say this but Camry's have always been dumb little uninspiring econoboxes driven by librarians and the like so it kinda cracks me up. Now if they made a V8 street version I 'might' take notice.

I don't think it is great that Toyota is choking, but it is early and I have every confidence that they will do well.

Just some food for thought, would you feel the same way about Mazda, Volvo (Ford companies) or SAAB (GM brand) if they started racing in Nextel Cup?

No, its not okay. And get over it... that was 66 years ago. even the surviving veterans are doing better than you.
Besides, Toyotas are made in the US employing a lot of Americans.
Oh and by the way, Toyota is racing in the truck series and has been, so there is nothing wrong with them being in the cup races. I am surprised that they aren't doing better. Waltrip is crapping out really bad this year.

The issue is that NASCAR allows Toyota because they are made here in the states but they are NOT an American car company and should not be allowed. And no it does not break my heart how they are doing but as stated in other answers I think that in time they will be a force to reckon with as they are in the Truck Series (UNFORTUNATELY).

Remember Pearl Harbor, maybe the Japs should remember the two atomic weapons that were dropped on their people, killing huge amounts of the civillian population. If they did that of course American society would come to a stand still since most of the stuff you use today was made in Japan. Lets gloss over that though, I mean you dont care that almost everything electronic you use was made in Japan or China, yet you care about the car you drive, funny. If your going to buy American fine you can ship me all the stuff you own that isnt made in America, and that will include the car in your driveway that was made in Canada or Mexico.

Until you get rid of all the stuff you own that was made overseas I would keep quiet about buying American because I can guarantee that everything you own was not made here in America. Then you can thank the Japs for forgiving us for killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people when we dropped the bombs on them.

i think it is great because if i want a new car brand to join nascar, i would want pontiac or if it needed to be a foriegn company, i would choose Subaru. shelby would be nice to race in nascar too. remember when tony stewart raced pontiac, good times.....

You guys dropped the bomb........
They dropped Toyotas, Hondas, Nissans, Mazdas.......if you are happy because a company is not doing so well in a professional sport, how do feel about the thousands of Americans loosing their jobs because AMERICANS buy Japanese cars?
I feel very happy every time I read: "Ford sales sinking" "GM to cut jobs" and so.
