If that's the only reason for living, it's a pretty sad state of affairs...

Without religion, man's purpose for life would be to LIVE IT!

Some would say that being a Christian IS LIVING - and it is, but it's living a "Christian" life... Very limited tunnel-vision...

It's not just living life....

We should learn to live without any influence from books that claim to come from any "God."

"Is the only purpose in life to worship God? "

no not at all. i personally believe that our only purpose in life is to learn.
and as long as we are good to one another, i really dont think god cares if we worship or even acknowledge it.

obviously it doesn't matter to you what I say because you have your own opinion and it doesn't look like you believe in god at all, but I will state my opinion anyway. if there was no God there would be no purpose to live righteously because we do that to get into heaven. If there was no heaven, we would not treat eachother kindly because there would be no reward or reason for doing it. I am a Christian and I believe we are put on this earth to worship God and to be kind to one another so we can earn a seat in Heaven. You can still live life and have a lot of fun when you are a Christian and it is a lot better because you have the guidance of God. If you knew all that God has done for us you would not be saying those things. If we did not come from God then who did we come from? If you say we evolved from monkeys, then who made them? Without religion, man would have NO purpose in life at all. But I feel like I am talking to a brick wall here because I know you do not care.

Why is living a Christian life very limited tunnel vision? Christians are called to love and serve God in this world actually making it much more of a life of joy in living.

So, you say, that we should live without Godly wisdom. Live like a sinner, eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die? Some of us did live that way, and found it shallow and without purpose. My vision is fine. I love those near to me and enjoy my life. It's like owning a car, sure you can drive the hell out of it, but to get the best from it you really should follow the owner's manuel and read on the care of it. Life is the same, it is best to follow what the Creator who loves you says is a better way.

RIGHT ON! living a christian life is very very tunnel vision, you are very limited to doing the things that makes us HUMAN. Being christian is a bond to being and doing what is only natural. How will you feel if you spent your whole life worried about what sin you commit or what you are constantly doing wrong and you died and that was that? I say LIVE LIVE LIVE Live life to the fullest and enjoy the fruits of the world and do as you please.

The nature of man is to always do their own thing... live it up and have control of their lives. When you become a christian the total opposite of what you say happens, you are free! Before you were slave to sin and living at the standard of man. The only purpose of life is to workship God and to live by His standards which are all written on the Bible. The christian way is very narrow but it leads to life, the broad way is huge and beautiful but it leads to death.

I agree. We should be good people without fearing eternal damnation.

That being said.. some people (like those who are willing to believe any old crap that comes from the bible or our president) obviously need someone to guide them. In that case, the bible is a good guide. Unfortunately people take every word literally and they end up believing in a giant arc with two of every species.

We must understand the real meaning of worshipping God.If you enjoys yourself in an allowed way,you are worshipping God.If you make an invention to eases life ,you are worshipping God.If you saved any person or helped him ,you are worshipping God as long as doing these actions for the sake of God not to be famous or to get a compensation from any one.

Ignore God? That like saying write your programs without listening to the specifications of the computer's operating system. What a waste of time that would be.

Some would say with your viewpoint about ignoring God, you are walking around with one eye open while wearing shades.

God never told us to worship him all the time.

Imagine this. If you worshiped God all the time who will pay your bills?

Our purpose in life is to enjoy the wonders of nature and not destroy it and leave it for the future generation and live a honest life.
