Most headaches aren't in the brain -- they're vascular -- caused by constriction of blood vessels on the outside of the skull -- unless it's a brain tumor.

Temples are part of your skull which contains your brain. The headaches you get may be from variety of causes. Tiredness, stress, dehydration, excessive catarrh, allergy to some food, periods (in the case of ladies), incorrect posture when sitting (e.g. in front of a computer) or standing or sleeping in bed. The list is endless. You might even have sinusitis which is caused by blocked sinuses which causes severe headaches. Try drinking a lot of water during the course of the day and if you cannot cure it by simple common sense ways(driking water, changing your sitting posture etc.) try taking an aspirin or two. If that does not do it see your GP. I hope this is helpful.

Your temples are your most vulnerable spot on your head. Here there is no bone protecting the brain from any kind of bump or bang.. when you have an ache at your temple, you have a head ache.
