Yeah, i recently spoke to a dietician, and i am studying to become one. To lose weight, first off, do not starve yourself. You should eliminate high processed high sugar foods. For a 5'4 ft person you should be 124- 138. You should eat 3 meals a day and the 2 small snacks that should be fruit. Also, you should eat your 3 meals at the same time everyday or close to the same time everyday. Aslo, try to eat your meals in the same spot while doing nothign else and take your time. It takes 20 minutes for your brain to realize you have eaten so just eat your meal and what a bit for your brain to catch up. Exercise is so important, strength training exercise can make you less hungry and cardio burns fat (but also can make you hungry) so you have to add exercise into your lifestyle. To lose weight you should exercise an hour a day 5-6 days a week, and along with the eating at the same time everyday you should exercise the same time everyday and your body will eventually get used to the routine and be up and ready to go at the "exercise time".

So what you should eat. All bread products should be "whole" wheat or whole grain because they are not bleached or enriched they are natural and the very important fiber is where it should be. Fiber fills your stomach and keeps your intestines healthy. So you should eat 4 servings of vegetables a day. (a serving is a cup uncooked and a 1/2cup cooked)

Breakfast: (start off with high fiber meal) cereal 3/4th cup
banana
skim milk or 1% milk-1 cup
1/2 english muffin
1t of butter

Snack-1/2 cup of grapes

Lunch-bread 2 slices
meat 3 oz
vegetables 2 servings ( 2 cups of salad = 1 vegetable)
dressing- 2 T

Snack- 1 1/4th c of strawberries
fat free yogurt 6 oz

Dinner
bread 2 slices or 2/3 cup of rice
meat 4 oz
dressing 2 t
salad 2 cup
vegetable 1 cup

late night snack- 3 cups of popcorn- or 3/4th oz of pretzels or 8 animal crackers

from experience, if your a soda drinker. Cut down and go to a 1500 cal. diet. I have even tried using frozen food plates. Using those for every meal. It really works. You have more control of how much food your putting on your plate :)

it's all about choices. start by making better food choices and realizing what you are eating, and what you need to do to change. also an exercise program like walking, running, biking, or joining a program will certainly help.
