In PR you will need 1000 clinical hours and you must be a cosmetologist.

Good choice of future profession, since this is an industry hat it's starting to develop more and more. The key is location, location, location. Find an office near good neighborhoods, metro area, and you will do very well.
Good luck!

I studied to be an esthetician in Puerto Rico . The course lasted about 18 months and I ve worked for some years. Had to put my career on hold and now wish to start again. Do I need some kind of license at this point?

Moving to PR is really good idea.
First you should transfer your esthetician license to PR.
You can find some license transfer to PR regulations.
