The color of the egg’s shell is a reflection of the breed of hen. Breeds with white feathers and ear lobes, such as White Leghorns, lay white eggs. Those with red feathers or ear lobes lay brown eggs.

There is no difference. Some older people like brown ones because it reminds them of when eggs came in various shades. But for the most part people nowdays buy brown ones thinking that they are closer to being real or organic. More rustic so to speak. But in reality they are exactly the same as the white ones.

The only difference is the shell colour.
Anyone who says different is being conned as battery hens can be fed to produce just as many brown eggs as free range hens.
And many free range species of chicken are more prone to white eggs than brown.

Cornell university did a study on them and there are no nutritional difference in them. Some people say there is a taste difference but i can't see it. My sister has one chicken that give a greenish blue egg and I guess it's not uncommon. She also has chickens that lay brown and some lay white. They all eat the same thing

Only the pigmentation of the shell.
It is routed in a 70's urban myth. About the same time that dietitians were proclaiming the virtues of brown bread. Eggs somehow fell under the same generalisation..

The only difference is the breed of chicken that laid them. Certain breeds lay white eggs and certain breeds lay brown eggs. it has nothing to do with them free ranging.

I have always liked the brown better, Now I don't know if it is just the color of the shell I like or the egg itself....

I always thought brown eggs are from chicken with darker brown color feather, and white eggs are from chicken with lighter white color feather. Not sure if that's true though ;)

The only difference is the shell color. Some chicken farmers also sell eggs with pastel shells.
