I know that Cesar Chavez championed legal immigrants rights . He also was very much against illegal aliens saying that they caused the wages of legal immigrants to become lowered along with working conditions. Of the people you ask about I feel that Mr Chavez was the most active in the fields and streets to help make things better for the United Farm Workers and other legal immigrants.

Cesar Chavez. Well, he definitely distinguished between legal and illegal immigrants.
For example he and his crew picketed INS offices to make them come to the fields and deport the illegals, etc.
As to John Steinbeck, I can remember his evocative book about Okies to California, immigrants, it is true. What other literature are you speaking of? To be honest, I never liked his writing that much, and never read anything of his that wasn't assigned.

They were also Immigrants, so they were in the Immigrants shoes, they understand their feelings, so I think most immigrants should be like them and support their fellows, getting up and and standing up for rights, finally: The USA is a country forged by immigrants, so United we must stand and remind.

Immigration rights are fine, as long and the potential immigrant is not an ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINAL!!! I thing legal immigrants are great - my mother immigrated from Canada!
There is no such thing as an "illegal immigrant" because immigrants are here LEGALLY! What part of ILLEGAL is hard to understand?
