I've heard of permanent hair straighteners but do they actually work? I love how my hair looks when its straightened from its natural curls but I hate having to go through the same procedure of straightening it every day and I know how damaging that can be on it as well. Is there a way to at least relax it so it will be easier to straighten? Thanks.

Salon straightening with straightening solutions works to keep your hair straight so you can get out of the shower and go, no waves or curls. It's easy to do and most hair dressers know how to do it - it's just perm solution that they comb though your hair until your is straight, then they neutralize it and *voila* you have straight hair.

You'll have to have your "roots" or regrowth straightened after about 3 or 4 months, but that's no big deal. I've had it done, my hair looked fabulous. Go get a consultation from your hairdresser and see what they think of the idea, they can tell you what it will cost and if your hair can handle it.

The Japanese systems are very expensive and only available in big cities. Combing a perm through hair that is naturally curly does not work well. That method is usually for taking out a perm. Go to your salon and ask for a chemical straightener. I use Matrix Opti-Smooth in my salon. The process does take a few hours. Extremely curly hair still will not be stick straight, but it will be so much easier to flat iron at home.
