There's no reason to make Spanish official in any U.S.A. state.

Good lord no! I have enough trouble speaking Texan!

I think it's very important to be multi-lingual. I live in Texas and studied Spanish because I'd be able to apply it here more than any other language. But to make Spanish the official language anywhere in the continental US is ridiculous.

Spanish should stay the official language in Puerto Rico. It was the language spoken there first.

I resent seeing Mexican flags everywhere. I mean this is still the US. The very country all of us immigrants gave up everything to enter either last week illegally or through Ellis Island 110 years ago.

Be proud of your heritage but also be patriotic for your country. You can be both

Te lo juro!!

I think you are right, but not only in the states above, in every state. I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where french and english are official lanuages and everyhting works fine. For example, a street sign will say " Rue Ste-Catherine Street" Rue is street in french, or a sign indicating Bonaventure Freeway will say " Autoroute Bonaventure Freeway", Autoroute being freeway in french. But, the french and the english have been in Quebec since before their were street signs, or ads or anything else requiring both languages. I can thus understant why people would be reluctant to change. The cost would be alot. But i think we need to embrace other cultures and accept the fact that spanish is very prominent in the US.

No. We're in America where people "should" speak English. English should be the official language not Spanish!

No they weren't stolen from Mexico as many communities declare. lots of the land in question grew to become into ceded to u.s. with the Treaty of Guadalupe, which ended the Mexican-American conflict in 1848. Texas on the different hand had gained that's indipendance from Mexico and at last grew to become into annexed by making use of u.s..

Absolutely NOT.

And I think English SHOULD be made the official language of the USA... driving material, voting material, and schools done in ENGLISH !!

I do agree with ESL classes for no more than TWO years.

Nope..
English should be made the official language of the USA..
All illegal immigrants and their US born children should be deported and assets seized....
If Mexicans are so in love with Mexico..
Why are they not down there working to make it better ?

It actually IS co-official with English in New Mexico.
Rather than make it official elsewhere, I think
all school pupils in those states should be required
to study it.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

It would mean that EVERYTHING would have to be Bilingual.

From Traffic Signs to EVERYTHING that comes from Governments.
It would cost YOU and all the other taxpayers at least a couple of hundred dollars more each and every year in taxes. Local Tax, State Tax, Federal Tax!
