use food coloring instead, you may make it more lemony than intended using koolaid

While in theory that is a good idea, the addition to all of that extra sugar mixing with the champagne punch wouldn't be too nice. I would suggest food coloring like everyone else has. Also, to add something extra to the punch, try slicing some fruit up and letting it float on top, it makes it look beautiful.

Yes, anything extra yellow will add to the color.

Just my opinion, I wouldn't Koolaid is bitter without sugar.
Unless you plan on adding sugar then it would be o.k.
