If you came to my Hometown in Avignon, France, I would first take you for a tour of the Palace of the Popes, and of course a tour on the "pont d'Avignon" from which the famous song originated. I invite you to view a few images in the link below.

After such a long journey I would take you to a back alley restaurant, in front of a magnificently decorated church, and would tell you the story behind this imposing monument while we wait for our "magret de Canard a la sauce d'oranges" and sip some of provences’ best wines.

With some convincing I might persuade my mother, a gourmet chef, to cook us some traditional food.

If you have the chance of visiting me during the month of July, then I would show you around the festival of Avignon which takes place during that month. Similar to Cannes for the movies, the festival of Avignon is where international theatric troops come and perform in hopes of signing year long theatrical contracts. A must see. Second link contains info about the festival.

However nowadays I am living in Shanghai, China. So if you come visit here I might give you a tour of Shanghai old town, and make you experience a few tourist traps. Most of Chinese culture has been destroyed during the revolution, so museums are full of copy of ancient relics. The real beauty of China lies in the outskirts of metropolis, so I would bring you to HangZhou, the lake and mountain city, or ZhouZhang one of the most popular "Venice" cities. YangShou would be a great destination but a bit far. I would recommend when you leave to take the trans-Siberian, a week long voyage back to Europe by train. A once in a lifetime experience!

See you soon!

I once had a lady friend fly over from England and I took her to the planetarium as well as to just about every restaurant in town so she wouldn't get tired of eating the same things all the time. I took her to a quiet place for drinks as well....took her to meet my folks...walked all over town with her too.

If you mean where I grew up, I'd take you to the MOMA, or the Frick. But if you came to where I live now I'd take you the top of Radobyl Hill or to a cafe for a coffee. Or a trip to nearby Prague.
