I was curious as to whether the medals and ribbons I've earned as an enlisted person would go with me to the Naval Academy and stay with me as an officer were I to get an appointment to the Academy. Thank you.

Some would, others wouldn't. I guy in my Army unit was prior service navy and he wasn't able to wear some of his navy ribbons. He was able to wear all the important ones though. But you would replace the navy service ribbon with the army one.

As an enlisted sailor seeking to earn a Commission in the Navy, you will be expected to wear all your awards on your Officer's Uniform - with a very small number of exceptions.

The only exceptions I know are in the area of Warfare qualifications. For example, if you are ESWS qualified, and you earn a SWO pin as an Officer, you will no longer be allowed to wear your ESWS device. It is instead replaced by the SWO pin. This exception ONLY applies to similar warfare areas. If you are EAWS qualified, and then receive your SWO pin, you can still wear your EAWS, but it will be in the subordinate location (i.e. under your salad bar).

I'm a prior FC2 that was commissioned through OCS. Naval Uniform regs are the same, regardless of commissioning source. I was required to have all my medals and ribbons for OCS, including graduation/commissioning.

If you mean medals and ribbons:

Medals (NDSM, Commendations, etc) and the corresponding ribbons you earn as an enlisted can be worn as an officer once you get your commission. Ribbons (not related to medals) are a little different and you would have to check on those individually.

Yes, absolutely. I've known many officers who were LDO's and one who went OCS. All had their enlisted awards including Good Conduct Medals.

Back in 1975 I knew an ex-army guy in the navy who had a Combat Infantry Badge he earned in Vietnam.

All federally awarded awards 'can' be worn, geez. Althoug as a cadet you would have to ask for guidelines while attending.
