Today is your lucky day. I am a farm girl from way back and have made whipped cream from scratch. It help if you have a cow, which I did at the time. After milking her early in the morning and letting the cream rise to the top, I scooped the cream off carefully; wanting only the cream. I put the cream into a bowl and began to whip it with a whisk until I had make it thick, I added a touch of sugar (I use all organic ingredients) and whipped it some more until it was the level of thickness that I wanted. I then slapped it on top of my fresh blueberry cobbler and there you go.
Just a tip. You can do the same thing with store bought heavy whipping cream. I don't think you even have to add sugar! It is in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. All you have to do is put it in a bowl and whisk the tar out of it for about as long as it takes for your arm to feel like it is going to fall off! Best of luck and happy whipping!!!!! Nana
