Theres a good chance of my bf being deployed to Iraq. I love him so much but he says he doesnt expect me to wait a year for him to return. He says his life freezes for a yr and when he returns everyone elses life has moved on without him. He said he wouldn't blame me if I moved on. I don't want to move on, I want to wait for him. He doesn't want me to? And he doesnt want to talk about it...but i want him to know I want to stay.

He loves me, hes been to iraq before. He would NEVER sleep with a girl over there. He told me he didnt last time, and i believe him.

He's probably just really sad about the whole thing, and he doesn't want to get his hopes up about you waiting for him, and then finally returning and realizing that you didn't wait for him after all. Just tell him that you truly love him, and you are so willing to wait patiently, however long it takes (but you also need to mean it inside!)

Maybe he doesn't want you to put your life on hold for him because he may not come back in a year. Perhaps he feels that asking you to wait for him would seem selfish on his part. But if you love him explain in detail that no matter how long it takes you are willing to wait for him and let him know that the time you two spend apart will only make the love you have for each other grow stronger. So when you do meet again it will be like anew love that is blossom again. Good luck and best wishes to you both.

it's good that you're commited to the relationship.. but he's being honest with you.. look, girl.. things change and happen.. you don't always expect things to be the same.. he's saying that because maybe he's looking for more or he just don't wanna get hurt. don't cling on to him, because luckily you'll find someone else.. and he will, too.

He might feel guilty that you were sitting around waiting for him. And he might not come back too. And he might want the freedom to see other girls there. And he might not like you all that much anyway.

maybe he is scared he wont make it back? or maybe he doesnt want any strings. . . so if things get really bad over there and he needs to be close to somebody he wont feel guilty?

he is going thru a very hard time....and he really doesn't know what he is saying....if you have a great relationship with him and you have been with him for a while then i would just wait for him and leave it at that.

You tell him you knew this was a possibility when you got with him, so you're going to be there for him.
