because the spicy food causes the blood vessels to vasodialate, and opens the sinuses. It is normal in most people, some are more sensitive than others. Its actually good for you. When either me or my daughter start feeling a cold coming on, we take a teaspoon of pure horseradish-we never get the cold, and feel better immediately. We never have to take medicine

same thing happens to me. its just cuz u salivate so much that it starts to come out of your nose, and spicy food is the only food strong enough to do this to you.

Mine does the same thing. I think the spice opens up the sinus cavity, causing your nose to run.

If you have an allergy or if the odors irritate your nosal mucosa, you'll probably have a runny nose!
