I am in my late thirties and I am STILL getting spots -- little pimples that show up around my temples, forehead, on my neck under my ears. Obviously I clean my face every morning and evening and use a clean towel. I have a reasonably healthy diet, so it's not a chocolate or deli meat thing. I suspect the problem is from smog and dust -- I live in an urban area far away from any sea breeze, and when I go to the seaside my skin clears up. I have tried cleaner and toner for sensitive skin, Oxy products (too drying - I am concerned about wrinkles!), tea tree oil (better than Oxy but still quite drying) ... any ideas?

It is a common myth that chocolate can cause pimples, which really isn't true. it's all in the oil glands that produce oil. called the sebatious glands, when the poor traps the oil and bacteria it gets infected and you get an outbreak. a pimple.

the best thing to do is not to have products that are too oily. like a moisterizer. choose a product that is for your skin type.

also stay away from products that are too drying it can cause inflamation making the conditon worse.

Keep it simple, everyday wash normal. cleanser, toner so that the ph balance returns to normal faster, and a moisterizer with an spf. every few days use an exfoliant, this will help remove dead skin cells off the surface which will help keep the porse, from getting clogged. once a week use a mask. this is not only pampering but it helps control the oil as well.

try something for combination skin. not sensitive skin. aveeno products are quite good, and inexpensive.

Hi There. May I suggest Arbonne's NutriMinC Re9 anti-aging line? It's made with nanosphere technology and is specifically formulated to meet the needs of people with different skin types (including young, mature, dry, oily, acne, and combination skin). I'm 27 and I LOVE this line. It's perfect for everyday use. What many people aren't aware of is most soaps and cleansers on the market contain mineral oil, the molecular structure of which is too large to penetrate into the pores of our skin so it sits on the top layer like saran wrap. This causes dirt and debris to collect on our face, thus causing our skin problems. They also contain harmful ingredients such as alcohol, wax, dyes, chemicals, fragrances, etc which strip your skins acid mantel (its protective layer) and causes irritation, dryness, and more skin problems. Also, be sure to use a white wash cloth when you clean your face as there are no dyes in them! You don't want to DRY out your face because your skin will try to overcompensate by producing more oil. Arbonne is a Swiss company that is regulated by the FDA and formulates their products without the ingredients listed above. Their products are botanically based and beneficial for all skin types. The right skin care regimen with natural and beneficial ingredients will help you.

Their revolutionary, result oriented anti-aging system is specifically formulated to reduce the affects of sun damage, decrease fine lines and wrinkles, while it works to combat the visual signs of aging. They're all botanically based, pure, safe, beneficial, hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, formulated without the ingredients listed above. They're unlike any others on the market with all 9 KEY anti-aging elements, giving you maximum benefit. Their products are also formulated with nanosphere technology which makes them beneficial for all skin types and adjusts to your skins specific needs by applying more moisture in dry areas and less is oily areas. Research shows that 6 months continued use of this system will give a 68% decrease in DEEP density lines and wrinkles; however I started to notice results within a week or two. Take a look at some of the before and after results below.

I would be happy to send you a free sample if you're open to giving it a try.
