The lower your weight, the better your chances are of packing power into your punches. A 5'5" bantam packs a better punch than a 5'5" heavyweight most of the time. What ever you can stay healthy at, go as low as you can. The key is "healthy", don't dry out or take off too much weight. You have to find whatever is your best fighting weight. It differs from fighter to fighter.
