A) Not "taint", but "stain".
B) It's not a presence of something, but an absence.
C) The original Sin resulted in the loss of certain gifts given to mankind, including, but not limited to: eternal life, discernment, wisdom, natural chastity.
D) Like a rich man's son whose parent squandered his wealth before his death so there is nothing left to inherit, so are we since Adam & Eve (whoever they were) deliberately chose to disobey the Lord's command to, "Leave that bloody tree alone!" Or whatever actually happened to cause God to remove those extra gifts we no longer have. Jesus brought some of them back and the Holy Spirit gives them out as He pleases.
E) The one we all get back (IF we want it) is eternal life with God. We get it through Christ's sacrifice on the cross and by being baptized in the belief that Christ did that and it worked.

We are NOT tainted of sin because of the transgression of our first parents, Adam and Eve. The Lord forgave them, revealed in modern revelation to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Nor are infants born in sin because of their mortal parents uniting in the natural way to bring them into mortality.
Each of us is accountable for our own transgressions beginning at the general age of eight years old.

What they mean is that because Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the eating of the forbidden apple, God banished them from the Garden and all their offspring suffer from this original sin. We are born imperfect humans when God's original plan was perfection.

because of Adam and Eve's actions, all humans are born with the ability to recognize and choose between good and evil. Everyone chooses selfishness at one point and commits sinful behavior...

I disagree with the two. In my concepts if somebody have been to have lived their existence sinless they could have been like Jesus and gotten to circulate to Heaven. The Bible would not say all non-christians visit Hell. It says that any one who works righteousness and obeys God are suited to Him. Many non-Christians in good shape this standards of their heart without being Christian. I choose to stay my existence and allow others to stay theirs. Judging is God's dominion. even tho I see a good number of it happening.
