No. Settings are stored in text files in Unix and Linux, normally in the /etc folder or in the user's home folder. Mac OSX stores settings in text files too.

The Registry is often considered one of Windows's worst features - a mistake. The guy that invented it has often publicly apologised for building it.

The newest versions of Mac's OS is based on Unix. So the file systems are very similar between Linux, Unix and Mac.
