Am I the only one that has a problem with the fact that they are going to start selling cloned beef and not put it on the package that the meat is cloned? I think we have a right to choose whether or not we eat cloned meat.

To me the difference is that the animal to be cloned is natural. What will be messed with during cloning?

I'm not in favor of cloning, for any reason. Most of the problems people cite with cloning as the answer can be solved by other means.

The FDA, in America, should absolutely require that cloned meat being sold as food should be labled as such.

If you don't have a problem eating cloned fruits and vegetables you should not have a problem eating cloned meat. Didn't you ever wonder why all the Delicious apples and all the Bartlett pears happen to look alike? It is because they are all clones so that everyone can enjoy the features of fruits that happen to have great characteristics.

If the beef is cloned , what is the difference between that and normal animal ? I dont mean to sound smart , but that is a legitimate question on my part.

I think it is as preposterous as allowing meat companies to inject antimicrobial solutions into meats without labeling it. They contain bleach, amonia, peroxide and wheat and soy ingredients-deadly to those of us with severe food allergies. I find the whole concept of cloned meat appaling. I was reading the other day that one of the plans is to make the cloned animals more docile, so they wont resist the horrid living conditions and the fight they put up when being led to slaughter. Currently, they are often stood in long lines, watching those being slaughtered ahead of them-shockingly cruel and shameful. Just as I chose to not eat meat in any form, you certainly have a right to be informed if it is cloned meat. The FDA is a bunch of crackheads!

I have a BIG problem with that. Mainly because the long term health effects from eating cloned meat have not been researched.

You're right. But then, a lot of vegs say why do you want to eat murdered animals?

It depends on the perspective of the people. Most people don't care about animals or other people.
