Here's my answer...

No I would not, because at 12 she is still too young to be seeing all the sexual overtones that Victoria's Secret uses to sell their merchandise. She doesn't need anything from VS, anyway. At 12 years old she is still a child. She should wear clothes appropriate for her age. There is nothing in VS that is appropriate for a 12 year old. So, no. And this is a thorough enough answer, without having to write three paragraphs. Write your own! :)

When you specify three paragraphs... it makes me think that this could be for a child development class assignment or the like. So I'll answer but not in paragraph form.

It depends completely on the situation. If my 12 year old daughter had already developed breasts and needed a high quality bra, we might check Victoria's Secret for that, but that's not the only place to find high quality undergarments.

I wouldn't really ban Victoria's Secret because it's too sexy, because they sell cute underwear too. If your 12 year old wants cute underwear, odds are it's just for her so don't freak out and ask her who's going to be seeing the underwear. That is her worst fear. I would definitely escort my daughter but I'd try to have fun with it by pointing out things that I think are pretty. In this process it's very important for the parent to not think of the child as their little baby. I wouldn't allow the child to wear for example, see through black lace, but something with a lacey detail or a print is fine. The undergarment shopping experience could be a great way to open up communication with your daughter and make her feel comfortable with you. That's really the most important thing in a relationship with a daughter. When it's something bigger like dating, you really want her to come to you and ask what you think. Underwear shopping, as silly as it sounds, will prepare for that.

I doubt the clothes will fit? Will they? I guess no harm in trying, right?

Here's my take. Everyone wears underwear, right? Is that what she wants from VS? Undies? If so, go with cotton briefs just like you would anywhere else. Or does she want those Pink line of sweats, shirts, tanks, etc. VS has marketed the "sorority girls" with this line, and I like Ashlee Simpson is the new spokesperson so it's not surprising if the 12 year old crew is wanting to wear those clothes.

Either way - GO WITH HER or she may come back with very naughty undies. Give her a budget, take her to other shops were the clothes are hip but less expensive then take her to VS and she may change her mind about spending her $8 on a pair of panties. If you are really against her wearing advertisements for underwear (as the Pink line is) and she happens to be a clothes horse just to be cool, take her to look at some other "cool" lines that are more "elusive" to the 12 y.o. crew - like Juicy Couture, Seven jeans, etc. Less provocative, more money but much bigger brand names!

I don't know about 3 paragraphs...sounds like someones homework! I certainly would not allow my 12 year old daughter to order by herself from VS If she needed good undergarments or was looking for some really cute t-shirts or running pants; then maybe. At 12 years old I can't imagine that VS has anything that she can't get at the GAP or Penney's....I don't think my daughter needs something specifically from VS. What is the label saying to people in her grade? I would want to know her motives before just letting her place a VS order. I believe all women should feel pretty underneath it all.....Contradictory? Probably. Interesting question...makes me think about my biases.

My answer will not occupy 3 paragraphs, but I don't see the problem with letting her buy something from the "Pink" line--it is cotton casual style underwear and clothes--mainly pajamas and sweats and is totally age appropriate.
Yes, I would take my daughter shopping, it is a good time to get to know her, just don't criticize everything she likes, then you will ruin the time.
Allow her to choose several things, and weed out the items you think are inappropriate, just say that--don't say its ugly or whatever--just that it is inappropriate and she has these other choices, so she may choose one of them or go home with nothing.
There is a difference with being a parent--being a leader and being a dictator--use your taste and wisdom to guide--you are not 12 and she is not your age--neither of you should dress the same.

I'm not going to write you 3 paragraphs on it (because I have a feeling that you'd plagiarize my answer for some homework assignment), but I probably would. They have a lot of very conservative bras and panties there, and they put a lot of research and design into ensuring that they put out a high quality product. At 12 I would still be escorting her on any shopping outing, so yes I would go with her.

I'm not writing three paragraphs for you, but I would let my daughter buy the cute, colorful things from the pink collection, but not the sexy, skimpy things in the other collections, because that's not appropriate or necessary for a 12 year old. I would accompany her to the store to help her make good decisions.

First off I am not going to do your homework for you, so a short answer is all you are getting from me.

VS is a place for women NOT children. At 12 a girl is growing WAY too much to spend $45 on a bra. The bras and panties at VS are WAY too sexy for a 12 year old, lets not make her up like a whore just yet. I am with my 12 year old anytime she is out in public shopping. She is too young to be able to protect herself from a child predator or a purse snatcher. Any young girls out by themselves shopping are seen as an easy target by rapist, thieves, and child predators.

3 paragraghs! LOL Victoria Secrets is a store promoting women as objects of desire for men. Their commercials make me squirm in front of my 3 year old! Women don't often walk around naked and talk to each other half nude they just want men to think that. I don't think a 13 year old needs to be in that store. I have heard that they sell high quality products but why buy them there when you can get them from a decent, not trying to show porn on TV, store.
