It could be a tumor. And it could be either subcutaneous fatty tissue which is noncancerous or it could be cancerous.I would take her to the vet and have them do a biopsy! It may not be bothering her now, but that doesn't mean it won't be a problem later!

It could be what is called a histiocytoma (google it for pics and info). Histiocytomas are benign growths that may start from something like an insect bite (we aren't sure how they start but this is one theory). The body reacts to the injury by forming one of these. In many cases, they resolve on their own after a couple months. In other words, they grow for a while then shrink and disappear. You should see a vet to confirm what the growth is. If it is a histiocytoma, leave it alone for a while and see if it goes away. If it doesn't or if the dog starts licking it and it looks infected, the vet can remove it surgically. It most ofen occurs in dogs under 2 years of age, but can occur in older dogs as well.
I have had 2 dogs with these. One was on a dog's face and was atypical in appearance (didn't look right) so even the vet didn't really know what it was until they removed it and had it looked at. The second was on another dog's leg and it had the typical appearance and went away on its own.

Take her to the vet soon.
My dog had a little bump that I didn't think was any big deal - it was just a floppy little lump on her leg. I showed it to the vet only because it was time for her visit anyway.
Turned out to be a type of cancer that is often curable if caught early but fatal if you let it go (a mast cell tumor). Because we caught it she has a very good chance of recovering and not getting any more tumors. The surgery wasn't too expensive. If we had waited a couple of months it could have been a lot worse. I feel very lucky that we just happened to be due for her check up because I think I would have let it go otherwise.
Take her to the vet sooner. Better to find out it's nothing and spend a little extra money than to find out too late it is serious and you could have cured it if you would have brought her in on time.

I would get her to the Vet. If the growth is growing it will be much easier to remove it now then if you wait til it is bigger. They may even be able to remove it with a local if it's not to big yet, that would be better for her instead of putting her to sleep to do it.

i would call your vet and ex-plane whats going on and
ask if you should get your dog in sooner. It may be nothing but dont take that chance because it may be a cancer of some kind.

It could be a type of mole. As long as it's not giving her any problems, then you can wait until June.
