There has been MANY questions regarding what really works. I found this recipe online and it was the only thing that did work after trying many other solutions.

Listed below are the materials needed to make the Cat, Dog, and Pet Urine Odor Eliminator Formula:

- 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
- Baking Soda
- Liquid Hand Soap

- a clean, empty 8 oz. or 16 oz. container
- plastic spoon
- waterproof gloves (such as dishwashing gloves)
- paper towels

Mix ingredients together with PLASTIC sppon only.

You can also use baking measuring cups to make the formula - 1cup equals 8oz. and 2 cups equals 16oz.

On new, wet urine areas, wear your waterproof gloves to soak up as much of the urine as possible with the paper towels. I usually press firmly down into carpet pad. This enables you to soak up a good amount of the urine. Pour mixed solution to soak area and let dry. With old odors, no prep is needed.

Once mixed, use right away and do not store as container may burst.

It DOES work. I had an old cat that kept urinating in one corner of my bedroom and my room stunk. I used this stuff and a few hours later there was no smell and it's stayed this way for the past year.

No enzyme cleaner I tried worked at all. I'm sure there are some that work but this formula is about $1.00 to make.

Look...I'm trying to be helpful by posting this. If it didnt work I would not have posted it. I'm not asking for other formulas or brand names of other formulas.

Not bad but I don't like mixing chemicals at home, even if it's only 3% of that stuff. I prefer enzymatic cleaners cause they're safer and it doesn't matter if I spray on plastic, metal, glass or myself.

I use this stuff called Approach and it wasn't quite $1.00 but it did work like a charm on my g/f's house when her cat got messy. It's the only thing I've found that really works and didn't make us sick. Plus it works on every odor I've found in my house, not just her cats.

Not to mention, i can store it and it won't burst!

This MAY work, but I think that it will cover up the Amonia/Urine scent. I would suggest using a urine cleaning product that contains enzymes.

Enzymes are proteins that speed up chemical reaction. When the enzymes enter the space of the area that smells like urine it will eat away and break down the chemical compostition of the cat/dog urine, thus eating away at the scents, then making it odorless.

I hope that helps.

Used to own a carpet cleaning service (15 years) and there is one thing I can say for sure. Cat urine is impossible to complete rid. You may be able to mask the odor but there is NOTHING that completely rids the odor permanently. There are all kinds of so called miracle chemicals sold and promised to rid the odor but these only mask the odor and never rid the odor completely forever.

Cat urine is the worst!!!

I have found that the best thing to eliminate cat urine odour is baking soda. Just sprinkle the baking soda on the wet patch and it soaks it up and withdraws the odour. Vinegar can also help believe it or not! Place the vinegar in a bowl near the wet patch.

You just think it has worked, because the smell is there forever and it is in a state of limbo. Moisture or heavy foot traffic and even vacuming will eventuall cause it to re-surface. The cat urine is in the subflooring, carpet pad and carpet forever. If on hardwood, yes, if caught it time you can eliminate the order and your formula sounds like it could and should do the job.

Don't believe it, Ijust had an experience with one of my cats in my closet and no soap or water or any of your solution would make a difference, I did however find a solution that worked immediately it is called AIP you can find it at anti-icky-poo.net the best stuff I ever found.
