Yes, you are correct. People keep looking for signs and scientific analysis. They want something that can be learned without experience. Faith, just does not work that way. If the individuals do not want to take the time to look and learn for themselves, then they are a hopeless case in terms of receiving theological revelation. It's experiential.

Special revelation would be something that has been revealed to you, in particular. The foundational knowledge, would have had to be there, in the first place.
