Sometimes I have a long list of reasons and people to pray for. To avoid forgetting some of the above, which I often do, is it acceptable to write these things in a notebook so that I can pray over the book or read off of the list. Or would that be inappropriate and too new age like? Thanks

There is nothing wrong with keeping a prayer journal. I would rather keep a prayer journal and remember to pray for all of those in need than tell someone that I will pray for them and then in my humanness (and blondness, LOL) forget. Also a pray journal will help you to see where God has been active in your life. Often when I look back over my journaling, I am amazed in retrospect how God has came through for me every time. Answers that I couldn't see at the time. God bless you. It sounds like you are a true prayer warrier!

Keeping a prayer journal is a great thing! I do this and it works great. I not only keep a list of prayer requests and needs, but when a prayer is answered, or when God works in my life through prayer, I write that down too, and give praise. It is such an inspiration to look back and see the amazing ways God works in the lives of His children.

I would not recommend praying over the book itself, as that is something to be reserved for the Bible alone, but having a prayer journal is a wonderful thing! I highly recommend it!!

Hey fellow Christian, that is a good question and if it is good, I think it is from God. (just don't pray for evil things to happen to someone)

Include everyone if you need to and it will bring you closer to Jesus. I wish I had a friend like you that prayed for me because that would be the fiat of life and love for me from my friends.

I personally use a modern version of ancient language called the New Way Bible. I also use God's computer called prayer and I let God arrange all of the pages and people. I only have to think of them and the one I met or forgot and he will handle it from there. It never breaks down for me.

So I think I will send your name up there and God will download it to you. The next time you see a line with a cross through the top he will be winking at you and letting you know you are included.

Send your idea to God and his marketing dept, asap! Blessings

"The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." Our memories are not what they used to be. And I, with MS, have less memory than the average flawed human. Without my binder and PDA, I'm literally lost.

I think God would applaud your effort at remembering so many in your prayers. Remember that prayer is a conversation between you and God, nothing more. You're not "graded" on your prayer, unless you pray in the ways that the priests in His time did; out in the open so that people would see. "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
(Matt 6:5-6)

God knows what is in your heart, and He knows your intentions. Don't fret over that. You're doing the work of God!

I don't think there is anything wrong with it.
I have a "prayer box"...I write down my prayers on a piece of paper, put my prayers into the box, pray for "that person" for a week and then burn my papers at the end of the week... For me it's just another way to let go and let God.

No such e book exists, it may well be too vast. the main ordinarily used Catholic Prayer e book is arguably the Divine place of work in spite of the indisputable fact that it is composed of no longer something like each and all the prayers that have been ever written. the main ordinarily used Protestant prayer e book is in all probability the e book of effortless prayer yet i would not recognize for useful. My standard prayer books are the Little place of work, and The Newman Prayer e book; the two short and candy.

You have the right idea there! There is nothing at all wrong with writing the names and reasons down and don't let anyone tell you different!

Prayer is not the matter of writing words by hand and verbal reciting but its a matter of heart feelings.
