I saw that another person answered your question correctly.
You are describing social anxiety disorder.
You have constant sweaty palms, bite your nails, chew your cheeks, look at the ground or avoid eye contact, swallow often, feel a tightness in your chest, think you are being paranoid, feel like you stand out all the time, would rather miss class than walk in late and hate being in front of a group of strangers (elevators, hallways).
Does this sound familiar?
I had the same problem and it began in High School but didn't become an appearent problem until college.
I always felt uncomfortable in my own skin during school. Everyone told me it was due to being a teenager so i just brushed it off. In high school i developed a nervous trait. I would scratch at my left hand all the time. It got so bad it would bleed. After a while it became a callious. The doctor told my it was my dry skin and gave me some cream. Guess what!! The cream didn't work. I just came to the conclusion that i would just have to live with this. I avoided people but forced myself to be outgoing (on my terms). i overextended myself trying to seem normal (joined 9 clubs and became president of three and an officer in the rest). If you met me you would never have thought i was terrified of crowds. I lived in a constant state of anxiety for four years.
Next i went to college. Thats where it got really bad. I stopped eating, sleeping (averaged 2 hours a night), avoided everyone and always turned down invitiations to go places. If i had a lecture with lots of people in it i would show up VERY early so i could be the first one seated. This was i never had to walk in front of people. If i didnt understand something i wouldnt dream of contacting the professor or asking a question.
People in my family kept telling me it was because i was a freshman and uncomfortable. Well the next year rolled around. It got even worse. In an attempt to seem normal i bacame a campus resident assistant. this job puts you in the limelight all the time. Everyone knows you and you are constantly meeting and talking to people. Random people just know your name and everything about you. that is your job, to be appraochable and help. Well i dropped ten pounds during the first week of school. I stopped sleeping altogether, had massive headaches and began having anxiety attacks when i was alone. My hands always sweat, my mind would blank, i would tremble after speaking to residents, and sometimes after a program (we had to lead them) i would go back to my room a vomit. Houseing tours were the worst. There would be about 100 people to a group all following my for an hour.
Finally after loosing my schalorship and dropping an additional 15 pounds i went to the doctor.
I'm telling you this so that you understand i listened to the same advice from people you are. No one was there to caution me on this disorder. I know it is hard to go to a doctor and tell them this. A lot of the time people just don't understand you and tell you it's just being a teenager. You know i may very well be just because you are a teenager but that is the age this disorder begins.
I was diagnosed and given Lexapro. I held onto the prescription for two weeks before taking it. That was my last resort. My life turned around. the drug didnt cure me. It just lessened the effects to an extent where i could see what i had become.
This disorder has to be treated. It never just goes away and can get worse overtime. Many people are driven to substance abuse as a way to cope with it. Don't let anyone who is not a professional give you any advice on this. Don;t even take my word on it. Make an appointment with a doctor.

I had a lot of those problems up until--well, up until now. They used to be MUCH worse though. I could barely talk to anyone who I wasn't friends with. And if I did talk to someone, I had the shaky voice thing. My face turnd beat red when I have to speak in front of people, or when all eyes are on me, also.
You might have social phobia or anti-social disorder. But I'm no doctor.
Personally, I wish I had gotten help with these problems when I was younger, so I could have enjoyed life more openly. But, each year I grow out of these problems more and more.
You'll probably grow out of it, don't worry.
=] Don't be so nervous.

High school is tough for the first two years, the best info i can give is not to worry about what people think about you, and live YOUR life. So what if that person over there thinks your weird, you may be to them, but you are you, and people tend to make fun, or distance them selves from what they don't understand. so every morning wake up and and tell your self that you are going to have a great day, and not worry about what people around your are doing. self-confidence is key. good luck!

Hm...I have the same problem when talking to people. I think it's mainly just becaue you're nervous in front of them and don't want to end up saying the wrong thing or embarrassing yourself. You could get rid of this by taking drama or acting classes or joining speech. It really helps.

You suffer from Social Anxiety Disorder. Maybe you will feel better knowing that (puting a name to your problem) but one thing is for sure - it is curable! My fiance has it and i know exactlly how it looks like. Unfortunatly, it will not disapeare on its own, you have to make big efforts to make it stop. Try not to avoid social situations, and remeber that no body is perfect, but also that with practicing (gathering expirience in social things) makes perfect as well ;) If you shut yourself from the world the fear will only grow. I suggest you to visit your doctor, or talk to your parents (or someone close) to help you with this one.
Remeber, you are not the only one who has it so there is nothing so worng with you....it's normal, common thing that has its way of curing.
What ever you do DON'T take medications on your own, as you can make the situation even worse...ONLY doctor can give you the medication you need.
Here are some facts about SA, so you can compare it with your personal expirience:
Social anxiety is an experience of fear, apprehension or worry regarding social situations and being evaluated by others. People vary in how often they experience anxiety in this way or in which kinds of situations. Anxiety about public speaking, performance, or interviews is common. Social anxiety can be related to shyness. The experience is commonly described as having physiological components (e.g. sweating, blushing), cognitive/perceptual components (e.g. belief that one may be judged negatively; looking for signs of disapproval) and behavioral components (e.g. avoiding a situation).
Symptoms:
Emotional signs and symptoms of social anxiety disorder include:
Intense fear of situations in which you don't know people
Fear of situations in which you may be judged
Anxiety about being embarrassed or humiliated
Fear that others will notice you showing physical signs of anxiety
Anxiety that disrupts your daily routine, work, school or other activities
Physical signs and symptoms of social anxiety disorder include:
Blushing
Profuse sweating
Trembling
Nausea
Stomach upset
Difficulty talking
Muscle tension
Confusion
Palpitations
Diarrhea

Just relax and realize folks around you are humans too unless they have turned into robots.
Sing a song in your mind when this happens and it will calm you down more.
Breath thru your belly button, feel your stomach move
Dont be shy, just relax and take deep breaths.
