I suppose your rabbi or parents could answer that. As far as I know it's about the transition from boy to manhood. At the age of 13 you have reached the age of religious responsibility.

Mazel Tov (Congradulations) on your 13th Birthday (will be)

A Bar Mitzvah is the act of becoming an adult in Jewish Religion. Being an adult would allow you to be counted as part of a minyan, wearing a talis, and wearing tafilan. You go on Shabbos (the sabbath) to shul and mostly orthadox+ (Some less) people read the whole Torah and do a huge service. After, you get the real meaning of the Bar Mitzvah; the part which everyone enjoys. The kiddush (meal) is right after, and you eat and eat and eat until your stomach bursts. Its a good feeling, lots of food!

Sincerely,
51 Cent
