No, the variable capacitor would have to be at a lower capacitance. The TRF (tuned radio frequency) stage before the mixer would need to be rebuilt to work at higher frequencies (and reject a different band of image frequencies) and the local oscillator would have to be rebuilt to operate at a higher frequency as well so that the hetrodyned signal would be at the correct IF (intermediate frequency) for the radios IF amplifier to amplify.
