they give you energy and make you feel on top of the world, coming off them is very hard tho

i hate that people hear things about steroids and stereotype them. those people stupid.
there are many type of steroids, some good, some bad. not all steroids cause side effects and not all give results. did you know there has never been a steroid related death recorded in the usa.
certain steroids can be prescibed for medical reasons. anabolic steroids are used by people looking to gain mass, muscle and lose body fat.
if steroids are not abused (as with most drugs) you can benifit from them greatly. as far as side effects, it depends on the actual product and more importantly the person. i am around anabolic steroid users all day and the side effects are minimal (less than viagra)!!!
do your reseach, you will be surprised what you find!

Steroids are good and bad. You already know
the bad. The good is that it kills pain. I was in
the hospital for a breathing problem and they
were giving me steroids. At the same time
I was experiencing severe pain from shingles
which I had for several years. While I was
there I hardly noticed the pain from shingles.
One of the side effects from the steroids was
that I wanted to eat all the time. The hospital
food was even good. During that time I gained
about 25 pounds and that is the reason I can't
take steroids all the time for pain. If I did I
would be as big as a moose.

It depends on what type of steroids....
But Growth Hormone is okay when you have a disease, and are under a good height, but other than that they arent healthy at all. You might gain muscle faster than if you were not to take steroids, but it's better to do it the healthy way without harming your body.

Over time they will kill you. I assume you are speaking of cortisone and prednisone.
But if you have asthma or arthritis they give you a lot of temporary relief.
