That doesn't seem very intelligent to me. Why would a god create an animal with such useless features?

You just figured it all out. There is no god. And anyone that believes there is, is a naive fool. Why don't we keep asking questions. Why is there so much murder and rape in the world. How could this all loving god let these things happen? Why do we have to have an amber alert for kids who have been abducted and most of the time are never found or found dead? He's supposed to be a fair god right? How is that fair?

They are mammels. As such, a pelvis is necessary. Whales give birth to live babies, just as humans do. There is a very long explination of this, but I'll make it short. There needs to be a place to guide the baby through. A pelvis does this. I don't know if you know the anatomy of a whale, but the femurs are fussed into one. It's for their tails. It adds strength and structure. There is a reason for it, you just have to find it.

Wait, wait, i recognize why. because of the fact some remarkable scientist can no longer think of what they could probable be for. so that they could desire to be ineffective.
