My brother in law and his wife have moved from the state we currently live in now to another state due to a job transfer. When they used to live here in florida we used to be so close and the whole family would gettogether when they lived here and now since they moved they do not seem to want to stay in touch with us all now. So my question is how do we stay in touch with them and remain close to them? They don't even have the decency to send us all gifts like they used to when they lived here in florida and we always send to them and their children. Any advice would be very helpful. Thank You.

What a shame. I'd be honest and ask them if they want to stay in touch. If they don't think its worthwhile then give up and just do the life-support-for-a-relationship email thing. Find good friends to fill any gaps left by the absent family members.

Good luck.

We moved from the midwest to a southwestern state a little over a year ago. We got cell phones with a lot of monthly minutes and no extra charge for long distance, so we stay in touch by phone a lot. We also email. And when there is a family gathering, like a baby shower, I volunteer to make something for the occasion, like the favors.
I know that they are not doing these things to keep in touch with you, but you can still do them to keep in touch with them.

Its very hard. We moved to another state. My family mom
brother and sister and there kids all get together. I call on Holidays and talk to everyone I also try and fly out twice a year.
But most of all call or email at least two times a month.

Maybe they don't want to be in contact with you. A good way to keep in contact is this new technology called the internet try it is wonderful, or you go back a bit and use a phone and if your really desperate try writting a letter.
Though consider this if they are not trying to keep in touch maybe they don't want to.
