And what exactly is the point of meeting up with this girl? She is with someone else, you guys didn't work out last time around, and you are worried about getting hurt just going for a drink, I think you have answered your own question, do not go, there is no point waiting for a wound to heal just to inflict the damn thing on yourself again, exs should be ignored until you don't give a monkeys if they are married, divocred or whatever, until you DON'T care anymore, you are not over them in the first place, and shouldn't go anywhere near them.

If the last time you met, it turned out to be fire and ice kinda situation, then I think you better be cautious of what you say or do. Don't show any signs that you might like her again or something. If you think the conversation is getting better after a minute or two, then just make it straight to her that you two will always remain friends. Never let her have doubts of possibility of making mistakes leaving you or something. Things happen for a reason in the past, and there's no turning back.

This is a big, fat, juicy can of worms. Cancel the date.
She has a new life now and so do you. It's always
tempting try and go back and re-live some memories,
but that's all they are now. All those old euphemisms
regarding this situation are a part of our language for
a reason: Let sleeping dogs lay, Don't stir up the pot,
Leave well enough alone, You can never go home
again, etc., and one that will perhaps resonate, Remember
the bad times.

Hhmm I stayed in regular contact with my ex, my first love. Although we were never going to go back there, it was quite hard at times - lots of flirting and talk of regrets, havent seen him for few month now and I think thats what helped me get over him once and for all. If I was you then I wouldn't go, it might stir up feelings that you thought you were over, or for her in you which could cause probs. Unless there was some major reason for meeting up then I probably wouldn't - sometimes its best to walk away and not look back, good luck x

I had the chance to see my first love at a friends babies christening but was frightened of what i would feel as i was in a relationship with someone else so I chickened out, two months later he was killed in a road accident so now i will never get to see him again its a deep regret!

I have no subject with sound asleep with an Ex, and that i dont recommendations if any gf does it the two. yet from examining your tale it appears that evidently such as you had intercourse mutually with your Ex given which you omit him and the intercourse felt good. What next? i think of you men are going to have intercourse much less and much less oftentimes till you get entangled w new ppl. (yet you will possibly be able to shop doing him for exciting even if you men have new bf/gf )

I agree with the last answer. What is the purpose of this meeting?! She's getting married and hopefully respects her partner enough to be with him only. Let her go...Move on and take care of yourself. There's no point in this meeting

Maybe she's having doubts herself (since she's engaged) and is asking herself the very same questions!

Follow your heart and go with how you feel. If you are having serious doubts then please try to think of the reasons why she is an ex and maybe that will help. Good luck!!
