OK, this is a bit uncertain but it is what is said:

the fly is like that of a soul spirit leaving life.

One source said it is like the sparks, ciders when you stir a dying fire.

Blue could be symbolic of death as it has been used in poems for centuries, and there are poems with flies and a dead man's "blue tongue" (gross) Duke of Clerveux.

Perhaps blue is just a colour as it a "golden trumpet", the sky is blue? Synaesthesia is the term in literature, one could look it up and even see if a search brings more.
