I met and fell in love with a wonderful Christian woman and we wanted to be married for a long time. But every time I would go to God for His blessing, I would sense that it was not His will. I kept thinking that it would be one day, but that day never came. She eventually married another Christian man. But honestly, with rare exceptions, I don't think there's a "meant to be" provision in scripture. We marry for ourselves, not for God. Jesus and Paul both said that marriage was for people who cannot or will not remain chaste. In short, use wisdom, take time to really get to know each other and realize that you are both imperfect human free agents who may not meet the other's expectations. The more Christ centered you both are the better marriage you will have, but I don't think you should interpret the absence of strong signs to mean that you were "meant to be with a person."

Sure. If I ask something of God, for example, is this person the one you want me to marry?, then I don't just sit and wait for a thunderbolt to hit. I need to read my bible daily because that is how God often communicates to us. Just by reading it we get many of the answers we seek. If God wants you to be with a certain person, then you will know that too. Things will fall into place and you feel at peace about it. It will definitely be a believer. So if the prospective person is not a born again person, then I doubt you were meant for each other as the bible often talks about the difficulties of being unequally yoked.

I believe God is not the person to tell you. Most people become so dependent of God, they begin to ask Him for everything. I believe God is here for guidance, and hope, although they may correspond to your needs, I believe God would not tell you. It is a decision that you will have to make on your own. And no matter what you do, God will still be with you and love you.

I think He don't give us sins, We commited it. In fact,Paul warned us about that b4 that it is good for a person to be single but =>
If strong temptation comes, be with that person instead of falling onto sin.
Now how would we know? We are given the freewill to do whatever we want here on earth, but you will be the one liable from it, not our teachers, nor our parents. And to gain this wisdom, James tolds us to ask it from Him with humility and thanksgiving.
The answer is in the Bible. The choice is yours.

Yes and no. If you are open to the spirit, then I think you will get answers in the way you feel about them. If you aren't willing, or really don't want to know, then I don't think you will feel anything but what you want to feel about that person. You have to be open and willing to accept what God will tell you. That is why most religious leaders will tell you to think and pray about the person before committing to anything with them. We can all receive guidance and inspiration, if we are willing to accept the real answer.

Yeah, God gave us something called Common Sense. Don't overlook the feeling in your gut because you're looking for the sign. That feeling in your gut IS a sign.

No. I believe that God does not get involved with us here.
Do you think that God would let you know that you have an @sshole for a boyfriend but allow a child to be raped and murdered?

No I don't believe that. You have freedom to choose, but God has layed out guidlines to help you in that choice.
He says not to be unequally yoked. There's a lot of speculation about what that means, but unequality of many kinds can bring trouble.
Are your beliefs on the same level?
How about finances?
Child rearing?
Respect of one another?
Unequality in any of those areas can be disastrous on down the road.
But alas.........we have the freedom to screw up our lives, but God is always there to help us pick up the pieces.

If two people truely love eachother, all the odds against them (short of dying or ending up in a comma) shouldn't deter them. I would think that is the ultimate test of love.

Not if you have doubts, your self, because there is the base of our own freedom to chose and decide, If you have any questions about others, I think?, you should ask HIM(God), for better guidance.
