You are mixing religion and culture

In Egypt, where I am from, people have flowers in their wedding.

This is not necessary the case in the rest of the Islamic world

It has to do more with culture than religion. I dont think flowers are used in the same way as christian weddings but they are used for decorations. But I only know about the customs of Pakisani weddings and not other islamic countries.

I think its safe to say that happy occasions call for natures prettiest creations. Flowers happen to be one of those creations that we use all over the world. I think that's just what human beings equate with celebrations because flowers are easy to find and every culture and continent has flowers. They are pretty colors pleasing to the eye, a lot of them smell nice etc. It's just natural to have flowers.

Not during the wedding but sometimes flowers are displayed at the party afterwards.

yes. they have huge bouquets. usually placed around and at the back of the kosha (where the bride and groom sit) and also at the door where the marriage ceremony takes place. some brides also hold small flower bouquets in their hands. friends and relatives also send flowers.
