Poole is in Dorset and Polperro in Cornwall. In between the two is Devon and I would recommend on the way to Cornwall that you take time to see Dartmoor. Whilst in Polperro you must visit Looe and if you fancy the journey to the bottom of Cornwall there are many fantastic places there i.e. St Ives, Lands End, Penzance, Falmouth, Newquay (although somewhat commercial) and of course Boscastle. There are really too many places in Cornwall to mention but enjoy them all the same. You will find that you need to return and visit again. Have a great time!
