No

You do not invade a country to get rid of a dictator unless you are willing to do the same elsewhere (Iran, North Korea, Zimbabwee).

There is something very elusive about the Bush plan which we are not being told about. Our children are dying for Bush while his children are partying. At least with the Royal Family of Britain, they do service.

Smart for who?

The Iraqi civilians whose land, homes and people who are being blown to bits?

The people who have vested financial interests in the outcome of this 'war'?

Smart to the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, wives or husbands of those loved ones coming home in body bags or disabled?

Let me think some more on that one ...

What I truly think is that war (armies) should be eliminated. When countries disagree, whoever runs the country (president, king, dictator) should fight the head of the country that they disagree with man to man, 1 on 1 in a neutral country. Winner take all. The ultimate grudge match.

Life is not perfect, folks!

What do you propose we do about Iraq? Let them bomb the hell out of us, until there is nothing left. Saddam, and his cohorts deserved everything they got, plus some. That country was in total chaos.

Do you even know what they did to those people? That is crap, and I fully support this war, even if there are some things that are not right. We needed to start somewhere, and let those idiots know that we are not going to put up with their garbage anymore. (I am trying to be polite.)

It was about time someone stood up to that assanine government. We are America, and there will be consequences. That is just the way it is.

I cannot believe that anyone does not support the war, just for the simple fact that those men and women that are a part of the war need support, regardless of what you think of the war.

Wars aren't "smart". But they're necessary. No, I personally don't want to be constantly thinking about whether or not my father is coming home or not. A war is just as hard on the people back home as it is on the soldiers who are fighting in it. Apparently you don't understand that the "War in Iraq" would have been (and can still possibly be) in your backyard had we not sent soldiers over. Yes, I'd love for every single family member and friend of mine who went over to fight to come home right now. But they can't. They are over there because they volunteered to defend their country. They are brave men and women and they deserve to have their country backing them. While you sat behind your computer, I bet you felt pretty damn safe. You didn't have to constantly watch your back while you typed whatever your tunnel of a mind thought. And the reason you didn't have to worry about your house randomly getting bombed was because there are men and women in Iraq and Kuwait who are dealing with those feelings 6,000 miles away so YOU don't have to. You're right. It's not "smart" or "fair". It's not fair to the people who fight, and it's not fair to those who support either. Did you forget about Pearl Harbor and 9-11?? Just because you don't fight doesn't mean you won't be attacked. Both of those times we were attacked on our own land. What makes you think that wouldn't be happening if it weren't for our soldiers? You don't have to WANT a war to support your military. But you just completely disrespected all of them as if they are no help to our country whatsoever. Wars have been happening all throughout history. Freedom isn't always free, but apparently some people don't deserve theirs because they take it for granted.

Was it an intelligent thing for the United States of America to go over there and invade a foreign country? NO!

And there present posturing in the 'Gulf' with war ships is an 'amassing' that, if it meets the proper criteria, gives the country that they are surrounding the right, in International law, to a Pre-emptive Strike against them (The U.S. - by way of the Warships) so that ain't to smart either!

War is a racket - Smedley Butler

To summarize: Three steps must be taken to smash the war racket.

We must take the profit out of war.

We must permit the youth of the land who would bear arms to decide whether or not there should be war.

We must limit our military forces to home defense purposes.

----------------------------------

TROOPS OUT NOW

The War in Iraq is nothing more than Imperialist mission. No troop with honor would fullfill such a mission. No citizen would support a Government that is so corrupted by corporate greed that it sends the military to fight in such a mission. An hororable troop would fight the very Government that declared such a mission. An honorable troop would value the resistance efforts in all countries to end such an aggresive and illegal immoral mission.

TROOPS OUT NOW!!!!

War isn't smart

Some people aren't smart
Some people have no conscience
Some people are egotists
Some people are just spoiling for a scrap

Considering there were meeting in Prague between Iraqi military/intelligence members and the Bin Laden terrorist groups - before the war started - only history will decide.

Wars are never smart, or painless or easy. Sometime when economic, diplomatic and other means have failed, they are necessary. Where do you figure the world would be right now if the US had not fought in WW1 or WWII?
