Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

I have had two boils before. One thing you have to realize is that it's always best to see a doctor. Especially if it's really big and sore. I would definitely not recommend you messing with it. Take him to the doctor immediately. There are alot of things that can go wrong if you mess with it. For one, most boils have a core. It's the hardest part of the infection and if you don't get it out, it will just come back. Also, if it's too deep, it will require surgery (Trust me-i know). You don't want to irritate it anymore so, I wouldn't suggest any kinda lancing. Also, a hot rag will help draw it out some. The only thing i would worry about is it actually busting. It will drain ALOT. They sell topical ointment at drug stores for boils that is supposed to relieve some of the pain. I would suggest that and a visit to the nearest emergency room. Take Care!

He needs to see an internist or a dermatologist. He may have an infected sebaceous gland or some other benign condition. However, it could be something more serious. Golf ball size indicates a physician is needed.

He really needs to go to the doctor and have this checked out. It could be something like a stap infection that would require antibiotics.

Best if you go to the doctor or emergency room to have it lanced. You can do it yourself, but it's messy and you probably won't clean it properly.

Well. if it is making his jaw swell, it may be a cyst that could need a medical professional to look at. If it is swelling the area, he could have an infection. I DO NOT recommend popping it... there is a chance it can get infected (if it isn't already). If you can not afford a doctor, I suggest washing it and getting some Clearasil Gel and pads... just keep it clean... if it gets any worse, see a doctor.

Try putting a hot (hot enough that he can tolerate) wet towel on it, that should help get whatever is in it, out. After you get it out, put and ice pack in a towel and place it over it, to reduce redness, swelling. Make sure to keep it very clean, put Neosporin or Polysporin (any antibacterial cream) on it, too.

He needs to see a doctor and have it lanced. It may even need to be cut open with a scalpel.
The doctor will use a local anesthesia to numb the area and then do the work to remove it.
