Do I still have to fill out tax forms and stuff if I haven't held a single job in the last fiscal year and therefore have no W-2?

If you don't have significant other income, like from investments or interest, then no. There's a limit for each filing status - if your income is below that, you don't have to file a return. If you're single and not a dependent, that limit is $8450. But if you have over $400 of income from self-employment, then you'd still have to file.

You don't need to fill out federal forms. Some localities, like the one we live in, do require every adult resident fill out a tax return, even if they had no income.

if you are receiving any type of income then i believe you do. the best advice i can give you is to call H&R Block, or some tax office and verify this through a "professional". As they know more about it than I.

Most income including unemployment is taxable. As was already answered, interest, investments, etc is also taxable. Most tax preperation places will enter your info for free and you don't pay unless they file for you.
