Im doing an assignment here and i have to write a short paragraph about the social and emtional issues which affect a childs development. ive been sitting here for over 2 hours with a blank page, i cant find anything! Plz can some 1 point me in the right direction here? Thanks!!!

Draw from your own experience. Its probably the best source you have. For example, what has effected YOUR social and emotional development the most? Is it one thing, or a combination of things? Personal experience is a very powerful thing to use as source material for any writing assignment.
You say you only need a short paragraph, but that should be enough to get you going for at least four or five different essays. :-)

The one that jumps to mind (socially) is our reliance on technology in this country. I know I have a little guy that begs to play video games all the time. He has tons of regular non-electric toys like legos but yet he wants to veg out in front of the TV. Of course, right now I'm sitting at the computer, so that affects him too.....

Do some internet research on children who come from broken homes, live in poverty, have been abused, kids who get bullied, kids who live with chronic health problems or have adhd, or are developmentally or physically disabled. Good luck w/ your paper. You should find enough info to write more than a paragraph. I wonder how they expect you to sum it up that short.

How about pressures placed on children to succeed even at an early age? Social: succeess, education at the expense of childhood. Emotional: need to have parental approval regardless of how sick of pageants, soccer, and violin lessons a child might be.
