The easiest cake to make is obviously the box kind, but you can make it taste a whole lot better by simply using butter instead of oil and milk instead of water . You can use any cake mix you like. I like the strawberry cake. I think there's a recipe on the box for a "strawberry refrigerator cake" it's the bomb. You just use frozen strawberries-puree them- cool whip and some vanilla pudding. you bake your cake, let it cool , then use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes in the cake. About an inch apart. then pour the pureed strawberries over the cake. The topping is the cool whip folded together with the pudding, which you should make while the cake is baking to give it time to chill. Put the cake in the fridge for at least an hour and your good to go.

This is the easiest recipe I've ever come across for a cake.
Chocolate Cherry Cake
1 Devil's Food cake mix
2 eggs
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup water
1 can cherry pie filling
Use a 13x9x2 pan. Pour veg. oil in bottom of pan. Tilt pan til bottom is thoroughly coated. Dump the rest of the ingredients into the pan. Mix thoroughly with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35-45 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cooled cake may be sprinkled with 10X sugar.
Enjoy! I like it 'cuz it's a one pan thing. Not a bunch of dishes, lol! And it's super moist!

What I would do is just buy a cake mix from the store and follow the directions. You can get any decorations that you want from the cake or you can simply get frosting and put it on there the way you like. If I gave you a recipe it may be too complicated but if you want it let me know.

Invert on cake plate with widest part of cake on the bottom. Cool 3 hours before decorating.
Insert a clean doll into center of cake. Decorate the skirt with icing tinted any color or use more than one color. Use a decorator tip to make the skirt as fancy as you like and decorate the top of the doll for the top of the dress also.
