Yes these spiritual gifts would cease when the apostles died.

Please read 1 Corinthians 13:8
“Whether there are gifts of prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease.."

These manifestations of the spirit were key building blocks in establishing the young Christian congregation and helping it to grow to adulthood.
Paul explained that after having served their purpose, these miraculous gifts would cease (as seen in the scripture above)

So, when would these gifts cease?
Acts 8:18 reveals that the gifts of the spirit were received “through the laying on of the hands of the apostles.” Evidently, then, with the death of the last apostle, the passing on of the gifts of the spirit would stop—including speaking in tongues/healing.
Obviously, when those who had received these gifts from the apostles also passed off the earthly scene, the miraculous gift would cease.
By then the Christian congregation would have had time to become well established and would have spread to many lands.

:)

A) No.
B) Yes. Explanation: the gifts of the Spirit are these; wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, mighty deeds, prophecy, discernment of spirits, tongues, interpretation.
Wisdom: should be self-explanatory
Knowledge: Not the kind you get from books, but infused by a singular act of the Spirit. What some today would call intuition. Knowing that you know.
Faith: the utter conviction of belief that allows you to sacrifice even unto your life for your faith or for others salvation.
Healing: again should be self-explanatory.
Mighty Deeds: Those actions that through their totality of devotion bring others to the faith, including but not limited to martyrdom.
Prophecy: God using your mouth to give mankind a warning about his future, usually only issued if it's time for mankind to straighten up and fly right again.
Discernment of spirits: has nothing to do with the ability to see ghosts, but with the ability to tell if a person's heart or spirit are truly with God.
Tongues: the ability to speak to someone in their natal language even though you don't know a word of it.
Interpretation: the ability to hear a foreign language and tell those non-speakers what the speaker was saying even though you don't know a word of that language.

The last two are the only ones not in evidence today with the same frequency of yesteryear.

Hope this helped.

No they didn't cease. It's just that in today's time, they are not on your six o'clock news as they are not believed by anyone from someone else who says such and such happened to me.

Mark my words...............they will try to commit you to a mental institution if you start to talk about your experiences with the Holy Spirit. They will tell you that it was just a coincidence or that you imagined it.

no they didn't stop, plenty of people still operate in the gifts of the spirit.
Try pentecostal, full gospel or charasmatic churches, but choose wisely....
Most demoninations agree on tongues as the original evidence of the baptism in spirit.
Most churchs agree on the nine main gifts being tongues, interpetation of, and prophecy (the 3 verbal gifts) knowledge, discernment and wisdom (bein the internal gifts) and faith, healing and miracles (being the power gifts) hope this helps you.

No, the Holy Spirit lives within every Christian. This is why some Protestant churches and the Catholic Chuch has confirmation. This means to be sealed with the Holy Spirit so you will gain its gifts. These gifts are:

Wisdom
Understading
Counsel
Courage
Knowledge
Piety
Fear of the Lord

certain gifts are no longer granted to us. the gifts that he does not grant us will return in the end times. (St. John and Revelations).

Some of the Gifts we no longer have are "laying of hands", "tongues", "foretelling".

Some of the gifts we still have are "preaching", "witnessing", "counseling", "understanding".

The "miracles" ended with the apostles.

most certainly not - the Holy Spirit is very real and continues to guide and watchover people today as it did the original disciples.
just try praying on it, and you may be surprised by what you experience...

No. Try the Pentecostal or full gospel churches. Many gifts are in full blown use in these churches.

The Holy Spirit is not a gift or gives gifts, HE is a person that lives in us. We accepted Him when we accepted Christ. The Holy Spirit provides the truth of Gods Word and allows us to walk the earth with His direction, therefore why would we need a "gift" when we have the Actual Person within us.
