You are free to leave the airport. Keep your boarding pass so you can get back in. No, you cannot miss the first segment of your flight. If you do, all of the other segments will be cancelled.

You are allowed to leave the airport. Take everything important with you. (ticket boarding pass etc.) Check your other luggage. Be back to the airport at least an hour before flight time since you are already checked in.

You have to take that connection from Boston to NYC to continue on to your final destination.

Have a great time in New York.

Yes, you can leave the airport, but make sure you get back in enough time to go through security again. If I were you I'd see if your airline had another flight out of JFK earlier and I'd try to go standby on that earlier flight (its free). If you don't fly the Boston leg your flight can cancel out, what you should do is call the Boston ticket counter and tell them what you are doing. They can add an ARUNK into your itinerary (means arrival unknown) and your itinerary *shouldn't* cancel out then.

you're particularly authorized to leave the airport and bypass into London for the period of your layover, yet your 9 hours will quantity to much less time interior the city than you think of. that's for here motives: a million) you will ought to bypass via passport administration at Heathrow as a manner to leave the airport. Assuming you're a US citizen, you will not choose a visa, yet you will nevertheless ought to bypass via their methods as a manner to be legally admitted into the united kingdom, even purely for a holiday into London. 2) Heathrow Airport won't be that on the factor of London, so it takes it slow to get from there into the city. you are able to the two take the subway (or "Tube") from there into downtown, which takes an hour or greater each and every way, or you are able to take the Heathrow exhibit prepare, which takes purely approximately 15 to twenty minutes to get to Paddington Station. this is, inspite of the undeniable fact that, appreciably greater costly than taking the Tube, and Paddington won't be that on the factor of the greater touristy stuff in London, so which you will ought to take different buses or taxis to get around London. 3) on your return, in case you pick to be back an hour until now the flight, you will in all probability choose to allow yet another hour on the airport to get via protection, purely in case. Assuming that it takes approximately half-hour to get via passport administration and you come back to the airport 2 hours until now your flight, this would help you approximately 6 and a a million/2 hours outdoors of the airport. in case you prefer to apply the Heathrow exhibit prepare, it particularly is yet another hour or so as which you will lose, meaning which you ultimately gets approximately 5 and a a million/2 hours of that factor to locate London. consequently, together as this is particularly available to leave the airport in this time, no count if the price is in contact for purely 5 and a a million/2 hours is ultimately the determination which you will ought to make.

Sure you can. I've done it and so have a lot of my friends. You can use a locker for carryons. Don't lose the key! And keep all your important papers with you like your ID and boarding pass. Make sure you get back to the airport in time to pick up your carryon and go through security again.

It's a great way to see the city you're stuck in!
